Road closure near the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) to disrupt airport access this summer
The Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is asking passengers to allow extra travel time to get to the airport this summer.
Starting on or about July 27, 2026, Fountain Street North will be closed at the Fountain Street / Kossuth Road / Fairway Road North roundabout for construction. The closure is expected to last about 10 weeks.
Access to the airport will be maintained throughout construction, but delays are expected. Drivers should use an alternate route and leave extra time to get to the airport.
What: Full road closure of Fountain Street North at the Fountain Street / Kossuth Road / Fairway Road North roundabout
When: Closing on or about Monday, July 27, for approximately 10 weeks
Where: Alternate route to YKF: Drivers approaching from the south will need to follow the posted signage and take Kossuth Road to Shantz Station Road to Menno Street to gain access to Fountain Street North (partial closure) for airport access and local traffic only.
