WestJet Announces Service to Orlando from the Region of Waterloo International Airport

Waterloo Region – The Region of Waterloo International Airport, in conjunction with WestJet, are pleased to announce the launch of new non-stop, seasonal service, between Waterloo Region (YKF) and Orlando, Florida (MCO). Service begins Thursday December 10, 2015 and continues through April 28, 2016.  Seats are now available for purchase on westjet.com or through your travel agent.

“Orlando continues to be one of the most frequently requested destinations by residents of Waterloo Region and we are thrilled WestJet will now provide our community with direct access to its famous attractions and theme parks during the winter months” said Ken Seiling, Regional Chair Region of Waterloo. “We appreciate WestJet’s continued investment in Waterloo Region and thank the thousands of passengers who continue to support their local airport and fly from home!”

The Region of Waterloo International Airport is committed to providing a cost-effective environment which enables airlines to remain competitive, and supports the airport’s efforts in attracting and expanding air service. Airport Management will be recommending a 25 per cent reduction in the Passenger Facilitation Fee for destinations in the United States, effective January 1, 2016, which is subject to Regional Council approval. This recommendation will ensure charges align with the current domestic fee of $15.00 per departing passenger and help maintain a low cost airport model which allows the airport to remain competitive.
