Sunwing adds flights from Kitchener

Package holiday company Sunwing Vacations is pleased to announce that the company will again be using Kitchener as a gateway for southern holidays this coming winter. Area residents will be offered flights to the powdery-sand beaches of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

The flights will operate weekly from December to April of next year. In Punta Cana, Sunwing offers a total of 24 beachfront all-inclusive hotels including such popular brands as Iberostar, Barcelo and Princess Resorts. Travellers on these flights will also have access to five resorts in the nearby La Romana area on the sunny south coast of the country.

The area is famed worldwide for its magnificent stretches of white sand beaches, turquoise waters and golf courses, as well as the availability of fun day trips. The resorts in Punta Cana and the surrounding area are some of the most elaborate all-inclusives in the world, most boasting many restaurants and bars, spas, and facilities for children and teens.

At the same time, Sunwing has also added a seventh weekly flight to Punta Cana from Toronto.

All flights will be on board Sunwing Airlines, popular for its "more frills" attitude to flying. All passengers receive Elite service, including a bon-voyage glass of champagne, hot towel service, a choice of hot meals at lunch and dinner - served with wine - and complimentary in-flight entertainment including first run movies. For just $40 more per flight, travellers can receive Elite Plus service which also includes separate check-in in Canada, 30 kg baggage allowance, advance seat selection and extra legroom seats.
