COVID-19
COVID-19: What you should know
At the Region of Waterloo International Airport the safety and health of our passengers and employees remains our top priority. We continue to work closely with the Public Health Agency of Canada and Region of Waterloo Public Health to monitor COVID-19 and implement protective health measures.
Canadian airports follow direction provided by the Public Health Agency of Canada and Transport Canada:
- Public Health Agency of Canada is the lead federal agency responsible for health-related screening at Canadian ports of entry.
- Transport Canada is responsible for transportation policies and programs to keep planes, people and airports safe and secure.
Enhanced measures were implemented in Canadian airports on January 22, 2020 and continue to be expanded and updated as the health response to COVID-19 evolves.
What we are doing
- Increasing cleaning across all high-touch areas and washrooms
- Providing hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipe stations in key areas
We recommend that all passengers contact their air carrier directly for information about their individual policies.
Flight details may change, please use your flight number to check your flight status online before heading to the airport. Call centre volumes remain high: Please call only if your travel is within 72 hours.
