Flair Airlines new Las Vegas service takes flight from the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF).
Waterloo Region – Tonight, Flair Airlines will launch its inaugural flight to Las Vegas, Nevada from the Region of Waterloo International Airport. While the new service will enhance travel options for residents, it also represents a significant milestone in the continued growth and development of air travel in Waterloo Region.
The Region of Waterloo International Airport is the fastest-growing airport in Canada and since Flair arrived in 2021, passenger traffic has continued to grow. This growth has triggered an expansion project that has doubled the size of the air terminal building to meet increased demand. Over 440,000 passengers are expected to travel through YKF by the end of 2023.
“We continue to see growing demand for additional low-cost flights through our partners at Flair Airlines out of YKF,” said Karen Redman, Chair of the Regional Municipality of Waterloo. “We are pleased to see new routes to high-demand locations like Las Vegas, as well as the economic and cultural benefits that our growing airport is bringing to this community.”
Flair Airlines is Canada’s leading ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) and is committed to providing affordable, cleaner and more sustainable air travel for all.
"We're thrilled to launch a direct service to Las Vegas from the Waterloo Region," said Stephen Jones, Chief Executive Officer of Flair Airlines. "At Flair, our mission is centered on providing accessible, reliable, and affordable air travel, and this new route perfectly aligns with that commitment. However, our dedication goes beyond linking communities like the Waterloo Region to exciting destinations like Las Vegas; it encompasses our goal to stimulate growth and prosperity within the region through enhanced connectivity and expanded travel opportunities. We eagerly anticipate serving the community and enabling our passengers to create lasting memories."
Las Vegas sets the stage for unforgettable entertainment and offers something for everyone. From top restaurants and luxury hotels to premier sporting events and world-class performers, with proximity to the Grand Canyon, Las Vegas has earned a place as one of the entertainment capitals of the world.
“Flair Airlines continues to provide easy access to Las Vegas for Canadian visitors,” said H. Fletch Brunelle, Vice President of Marketing for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. “Since launching service to the destination in 2021, Flair now has grown to eight direct routes throughout Canada including the newest addition of the Waterloo Region. We look forward to welcoming even more travellers from our top international market in 2024 and beyond."
