Waterloo Region - With March Break approaching, the Region of Waterloo International Airport (YKF) is getting ready for one of the busiest travel times of the year. Travellers are encouraged to plan ahead and arrive early to help their trip go smoothly.
To help you start your travel plans with less time in line and more time to relax, YKF has put together the tips below.
Before you go
- Check your flight status with your airline before you leave for the airport
- Check-in online and sign up for flight notifications, if available.
- Arrive early. Follow your airline’s recommended arrival time allow extra time for traffic and parking.
- Have your documents ready, including government-issued identification, passport, boarding pass, and any required visas or travel documents.
Pack like a pro
- Check baggage limits with your airline for carry-on and checked baggage (size and weight restrictions) to avoid extra fees.
- Follow the 100ml rule. Anything you can pour, spread or spray must be in containers 100ml or less, and placed in a clear, resealable plastic bag. Each passenger can bring one 1L bag, with some exceptions for items for children under two and prescribed or essential medication.
- Keep electronics easy to reach. You may need to remove laptops and large electronics during security screening for inspection.
