Book an Airport School Tour

The Region of Waterloo International Airport provides an educational tour program for junior and senior Kindergarten students.  Tours take place Tuesday mornings from September through June and last for approximately 1.5 hours.

Airport tours include:

  • The security screening area, hold room and air terminal building
  • Activities where students learn the parts of an airplane; fold and fly paper airplanes
  • Plane-spotting from the viewing windows
  • An opportunity to see the Airport's Fire Truck and meet a member of the Airport's Operations Team.

Aviation Fun Day - Saturday August 26 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Grab your walking shoes and explore the airport on foot for the third annual Aviation Fun Day. Learn how the aviation industry works, meet pilots, get up close to airport equipment, vintage aircraft and classic cars.

Bring a donation for the food bank to this free family event.  Parking $4.50 per vehicle.

Event takes place rain or shine! Watch this space for regular updates.

A Celebration of Women in Aviation - Saturday May 13 (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)

Tour the flight centre, meet women pilots and learn about the aviation industry. Guest speakers include: Anne Hoffman, Toronto Pearson Control Tower Controller; Contessa Bishop, Jazz Aviation Captain; and Siobhan O'Hanlon, Sunwing Airlines First Officer.

Free flights for girls 8 to 18. Advance Registration & Waiver Required

Airport Book Cart

WestJet Cares for Kids needs your used books and magazines!

We need your gently used books and magazines to stock our latest fundraising program the "WestJet Book Cart". All funds raised are donated to local charities while keeping used books and magazine out of landfill sites. Guests can purchase books and magazines from the self-service cart located in the departure lounge by making a donation to the WestJet Cares for Kids program. To date over $7,000 has been raised.|

We Need: Gently used books and magazines
When: Donations are accepted Monday - Friday
from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
